Programming for protection

How do we make sure that programmes are helping to support children effectively and meeting their protection needs?

girl_sepia_smlAid and development agencies that are in contact with children, directly or indirectly, need to consider how they will take account of them in the design and delivery of their programmes.

Protection of children should be built into assessment tools, planning processes, delivery, monitoring and accountability mechanisms so that there is explicit reference to children. Including children in the programme cycle is an important way of ensuring their protection needs are taken into account. GCPS can help with how best to initiate, manage and facilitate the meaningful participation of children.

As well as integrating or mainstreaming child protection in this way, agencies may run specific child protection programmes. GCPS can help with design, delivery, review and evaluation of child protection programmes whether in relief or development contexts.

Contact GCPS to make a request for services and to discuss your organisation's programme needs.
